Dear Friend,

Here is a perfect example of just how backwards the Province's priorities have become. As the world arrived in Vancouver for the FIFA World Cup, Vancouver Coastal Health, the same health authority behind the push for a drug consumption site at 900 Helmcken, rolled out a social media campaign aimed at tourists. 

The message boiled down: our drug supply is toxic, so if you're going to use, don't use alone, and go low and slow. 

Yes, on the world's biggest stage, instead of showing off a safe, world-class city, our health authority spent public money coaching visitors on how to use a poisoned drug supply. That's the picture of Vancouver they sent around the globe.

And now that same health authority wants to open a drug consumption site at 900 Helmcken, right next to thousands of homes, hotels, and the very visitors they just warned. Warning tourists our streets are unsafe, then making them less safe. That's why we can't stop pushing.

The good news? You've already proven that it’s working. 

Last week, many of you left comments on Solterra's pages asking why they'd allow their building to become a drug consumption site. It worked, they noticed, and they've now turned off comments on their main account. They’re definitely taking notice. 

So let's keep our voices heard across the businesses they're connected to.
